Exploring the UAP Phenomenon: A Call for Global Attention

The Beginning of My UAP Journey in 2023

My interest in the Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) truly deepened in 2023, when David Grusch publicly came forward with his compelling revelations about UAP encounters. His statements sparked a renewed conversation about the reality of these mysterious sightings, yet in Austria and Germany, the topic remains largely taboo.

Why UAP Encounters Deserve Broader Media Coverage

In my home countries, discussions about UAP sightings rarely make it into mainstream media. The media outlets here tend to overlook or dismiss reports of strange aerial phenomena, resulting in a lack of public awareness and curiosity. I believe it’s crucial for the conversation around UFO sightings and UAP encounters to gain momentum globally, not just in the United States.

Connecting with Media and Sharing Expert Insights

Motivated by this gap, I reached out to several media outlets in hopes of shedding light on this important issue. Thankfully, a Vienna-based magazine called DATUM responded positively and published my feature article.

In April, I had the opportunity to interview Professor Hakan Kayal from the University of Würzburg, Germany. He leads the SkyCAM-5 project, a scientific initiative dedicated to data-driven UAP research. Professor Kayal has also co-authored peer-reviewed papers, including a comprehensive 2025 scientific overview alongside researcher Ryan Graves, emphasizing the importance of rigorous scientific investigation into UAPs.

A Step Toward Serious Dialogue About UAPs in the German-Speaking World

My goal with this article is to catalyze a more serious, informed discussion about UAPs within the German-speaking community. Currently, conversations about these unexplained phenomena are minimal— and that needs to change. It’s long overdue for society to approach UAP encounters with scientific curiosity and openness.
